I have seen so much buzz online about Lauders new foundation Double Wear Nude, that i had to get my hands on it here at Lurganista HQ. Kendall Jenner is one of the models for the advertising campaign (though Kendall is so young and beautiful that her skin looks fab without anything)
It comes in a frosted glass bottle just like the original Double Wear but still without a pump. Its very silicon heavy and also has spf 30 which will add an extra layer of protection over your usual spf. It comes in 33 shades so there will definitely be a shade to suit all skins from fair to dark.
Double Wear Nude went on my skin like no other foundation I’ve ever used. Its runny like water but applied with fingers it immediately evened out my skin-tone. I then went in with a damp beauty blender to press it into my skin. The first day i used it i tried it with powder products and it just didn’t sit that well; so the next time i used cream bronzer and it married up like a dream. I used Chanel tan du soleil. I then set my concealer with loose powder.
Double Wear Nude stays slightly tacky on the skin, anyone with a very dry flaky skin will adore this foundation as it won’t cling to any dry spots. The coverage is light to medium so anyone used to original Double Wear might not like the lighter coverage. Its perfect for older skins over 30 as it didn’t settle into any of my fine lines. I find its a perfect summer foundation as when our skin has a little colour it doesn’t need heavy coverage foundations. It also photographed beautifully.
What Estée Lauder say…. Waterlight. This fluid, long-wear makeup feels like you have nothing on. Moves comfortably with your skin. Looks fresh, natural, healthy, even-toned.
With SPF 30 and anti-oxidants, it’s your invisible defense against environmental damage from UV rays and pollution.
Instantly and continuously hydrates with a moisture complex of red fruit extracts, including watermelon, lychee seed and apple.
My Final thoughts, it was a little bit of a pain that the foundation didn’t like powder bronzer, and it was a little tacky but then again it did photograph beautifully! So I’m on the fence with this product!
**Full Disclosure, Lauder gave me a 10 day sample on counter to try. I always give an honest review**
