Spotlight on Pixi by Petra Skincare

Autumn has finally arrived, and with it for me comes a change in my older dry eczema prone skin. Luckily Pixi by Petra beauty kindly sent me some products to try, including the iconic Pixix Glow Tonic and the Pixi Jasmine oil. This couldn’t have come at a better time as ive been unwell and my body is unable to absorb vitamins properly, so ive been using these products for 6 weeks consistently.

Pixi Glow Tonic

Glow tonic is a liquid exfoliator which is gentle enough for those with sensitive skin as it is enriched with Aloe Vera.

Ingredients

  • 5% glycollic Acid (exfoliant ingredient)
  • Aloe Vera
  • Ginseng

I have used Alpha H Liquid Gold, but this is a much much stronger AHA exfoliator and if you have sensitive skin Pixi would be much more gentle on the skin. Read my review here Believe the Hype: Alpha H Liquid Gold

How to use

You can use Glow Tonic Am and Pm and as my skin is accustomed to AHA exfoliators ive been using it this way. If your skin is sensitive start with twice a week and build up, without any harsh tingling.

I’ve used quite a lot of Serums and Pixi Jasmine oil has become one of my favourites. If you have oily or combination skin just use in the PM. My skin is very dry and i found no problems using it under foundation and just used my normal Nars Loose powder to set. I really was delighted with the results ingredients and price point for a serum with great ingredients.

    Price UK & NI £26

    Eire €32:99

    USA $24:99

It’s easy to see why 500’000 bottles of the iconic Pixi Glow Tonic are sold per year. I’ve seen so many bloggers supermodels and celebrity makeup artists sing the praises of this fab exfoliator. If you are a skincare junkie you will know Caroline Hirons has worked with Pixi by Petra and I can see why as my skin is glowing without needing too much of my beloved highlighter. I will be repurchasing and trying the other products to winter proof my skin.
